A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.
The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though they were a very large mammal their throat was very small.
The little girl stated Jonah was swallowed by a whale.
The teacher reiterated a whale could not
swallow a human; it was impossible.
The little girl said, “When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah.”
The teacher asked, “What if Jonah went to hell?”
The little girl replied, “Then you ask him.”

Funny. 🙂 Of course, we don’t know for sure what kind of sea animal swallowed Jonah. The text says it was a great fish, so it could have been a shark or possibly a unique creature created by God specifically for that purpose.
That’s true.
I always think it must have been a whale shark, the biggest fish in the world and native to the Mediterranean Sea. Also, it’s only the baleen (krill feeding) whales that have narrow throats, Sperm whales and other whales have swallowed men before and some of those men have even lived to tell the tale.
