The Timely Last Words of David Wilkerson

godseesour-tears7

David Wilkerson (May 19, 1931 – April 27, 2011) came to the attention of most people after his book ‘The Cross and the Switchblade’ was published. It chronicled his passion to reach inner city gangs of New York with the gospel. He was also the founder of World Challenge Ministries and the non denominational church,Times Square Church in New York. On April 27, 2011 David died in a tragic car accident. One of his best sermons was ‘A Call to Anguish’.

His last message was a blog post (on the day he died) titled ‘When All Means Fail’. Here is an excerpt:

Someone has come to the place of hopelessness—the end of hope—the end of all means. A loved one is facing death and doctors give no hope. Death seems inevitable. Hope is gone. The miracle prayed for is not happening. To those going through the valley and shadow of death, hear this word: Weeping will last through some dark, awful nights—and in that darkness you will soon hear the Father whisper, “I am with you. I cannot tell you why right now, but one day it will all make sense. You will see it was all part of my plan. It was no accident. It was no failure on your part. Hold fast. Let me embrace you in your hour of pain.”

Beloved, God has never failed to act but in goodness and love. When all means fail—his love prevails. Hold fast to your faith. Stand fast in his Word. There is no other hope in this world.

A clip from ‘A Call to Anguish’:

May his passion for evangelism and his admonition to prayer and perseverance in faith in a post-modern world be a memorable encouragement to all Christians.

R.I.P David Wilkerson.

David is rejoicing with his Father in heaven! He passed through the narrow gates to arrive there and as scriptures clearly states only a few will enter. It is important that we continue the flow of the Holy Spirit to as many as we can who has that calling!

Davids message on forgiveness gave me the ability to recover a place in God I’d lost after someone’s lie, blatant lie, left me in a state of inexplicable condition. I now can pray daily for this person. David showing the scriptures I must adhere to was life changing, and in the Way he explained it. Now I can concentrate on seeing my daily praying for this odious liar leading to their eventual salvation I now believe in for them. The wrong words can maim a person, how I now know. Thanks for posting Davids sermons. I thank God for the people like David Wilkerson he raises up.

You need to change the image for this post. That is not the David Wilkerson of this post. That man in the photo is a pilot in Britain’s Royal Air Force.

To those who are working through aspects of life that feel overwhelming and difficult…even in anguish, I pray the Holy Spirit will sustain you as you serve, as you work and as you rest. Brothers and sisters in Christ, we are the continued soldiers of the Bible who have to March forward in a broken world taking one day at a time fully armored in his word, love, and light. Peace be with you as you battle forward whatever it may be! God bless.

Could you please in the fruits of the Spirit answer as a believer why was my post removed from here please.

The Scripture truth was written about this might man whom loved God so much with his life on earth.

I knew this man I new His heart and what was written was truth to show how much David was more concerned on pleasing the Father and not worried about what man thinks.

The message showed if you too had ever personally new Him what He spent his life doing and the scriptural method He used to have sinners soundly saved by Grace.

To remove it as this is what appears to have been done. I ask why remove a post that the information wrote in it could biblical y point a sinner to Christ that they too can have eternal life. Also give strength to a shepherd contending for the Faith to stand up for truth which many don’t preach.

If so I pray that God will not hold it against you but that the person unknown to us that the message could have pointed to Christ may find the truth else where and not be lost.

And if it was by accident it was deleted then please state so as I will post it again. I Hunger for the lost of this dying world . And it would not be a problem to me to re write it again as its work concerning the Kingdom and it ails me not to do so.

Even so Come Lord Come. AMEN

Great post. David was truly a great slave of God and a man with a passion to see souls saved.
