This one is really embarrassing. If a “Christian” continues to sin willfully and persistently and maintains a life of sin and deception not only does he bring shame to the name of the Lord, but also will cause every one to wonder if he truly is a Christian as he claims to be. Bewildered church members who had constantly been burgled were recently left dumbfounded when they caught their perennial burglar. You see…
[The pastor from] the First Free Methodist Church in Smyrna was caught via video camera attempting to burglarize the home of a church member, according to a Smyrna Police Department news release.
The burglary victim noticed on several occasions that medications were missing from the home, the release read. The burglaries occurred while the victim was away from the home so the victim set up a video camera in hopes of catching the suspect.
“On July 4, 2011 the video camera did capture the victim’s pastor, Rickey Alan Reed (55), at the rear door of the home attempting to manipulate the lock mechanisms and gain entry to the home,” said SPD Sgt. Bobby Gibson, via the news release. “After viewing the video, the victim contacted Smyrna Police on July 15, 2011 and filed a police report.”
An arrest warrant was issued for Reed and he was notified of the warrant, according to the report. Reed did report to the Smyrna Police Department on Sept. 18 and was processed on the warrant. He was charged with aggravated burglary and has since made bond on the charge.
“During the course of this investigation, Smyrna Police have determined that Reed may have burglarized the homes of other church members but many of these members are hesitant to report these burglaries to police,” Gibson said.
I truly wonder what Pastor Rickey has been feeding his flock over the last couple of years. Did he preach on sin, righteousness and judgement? Or did he just mumble through countless movie sermon series, riddles and positive affirmations to keep the numbers coming as most pastors do these days? I don’t know but either way this despicable behavior has shameful brought more disdain and mockery to the name of Christ.
Well then pastor, what shall we say then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may abound?

I thought that was satire until I clicked on the link. Good thing the victim that caught their pastor on camera had the nerve to report him to the police. I think that some Christians these days would try to be “tolerant” and forgiving and even allow him to remain in the pulpit!
